Renewal notification

Renewal notifications help to see which documents are renewing soon in your document list and set up renewal notification emails.

Renewal notification setup for templates and documents

Set up renewal notifications for a specific template so that any document created from that template will inherit those renewal notification settings. You can also set up renewal notifications for an individual document in any Status.

To enable renewal notifications at the template level, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your template in editing mode

  2. Open the File menu in the top left corner

  3. Select Template > Renewal

  4. Choose the number of months after document completion for the renewal to trigger. From this screen, you can also enable renewal notifications for the document owner

  5. Finally, click Apply to save the settings

Note: The renewal date can be set to a specific date in the document.

To set up renewal settings on the document level, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your document in editing mode

  2. Select the File menu in the top left

  3. Choose Document > Renewal

  4. Here, choose the number of months after document completion for the renewal to trigger or select a specific renewal date. You can also enable renewal notifications for the document owner

  5. Finally, select Apply to save the settings

Alternatively, if you can configure renewal settings before sending your document:

  1. Open the Renewal tab under Document settings

  2. Next, enable the Renewals toggle

  3. Choose the number of months after document completion for the renewal to trigger or select a specific renewal date. You can also enable renewal notifications for the document owner

  4. Finally, select Done to save your settings

Upcoming document renewals

The document owner will receive a renewal notification email a certain number of days before the document renewal (notification is customizable - see above).

In the document list, open the Upcoming renewals tab to see documents that will soon expire. The renewal date appears in the right-hand column. Hover over the renewal date to see the exact renewal time.
