Document digest gives you a weekly check-in on your documents without building a report. You open it, see four numbers, and select the one you want to act on.
Open Document digest
You can open Document digest in two places. Both show the same four sections.
In Reports. Go to Reports. Document digest opens first, at the top of the General list. This is the full view, with charts, filters, extra columns and export.
In the AI Assistant. Select the prompt Get a digest across all documents, or type something similar. The AI Assistant replies with the documents that need action, have stalled, were recently finalized, or are coming up for renewal.
The rest of this article covers the page in Reports.
The four sections
Each card at the top counts the documents in one section. Select a card to see its documents and charts below.
Section | What it shows | Time window |
Action required | Documents that need something from you | Now |
Waiting for others | Your documents that are out with recipients and not finished yet | Now |
Recently finalized | Your documents completed or paid | Last 7 days |
Upcoming renewals | Contracts with a renewal date coming up | Next 90 days |
Action required
The table shows each document's name, status, amount and Action type, which tells you what to do next:
Sign: the document is waiting for your signature.
Send: the document is ready for you to send.
Fix and resend: a recipient declined it, or it was rejected in approval.
Follow up on expired: it expired before everyone completed it.
The chart below the table, Documents waiting on you, by type, shows how many documents fall under each action type.
Waiting for others
The table adds Days waiting, the number of days since the document last changed, and Expiration, so you can see which documents have stalled and which will expire soon.
Two charts sit below it:
How long documents have been stalled groups documents into Not sent, 0–4 days, 5–9 days and 10+ days.
Documents getting stuck over time compares new and resolved documents each week over the last 8 weeks.
Recently finalized
Shows your documents completed or paid in the last 7 days. If nothing finished, you'll see a link to all your documents instead.
Upcoming renewals
Lists contracts that renew in the next 90 days, with counterparty name, amount and renewal date.
Two charts show renewals by month and the split between auto-renewal and manual renewal by contract value.
Renewal dates come from AI data extraction, so contracts only appear here once extraction has run on them. Extraction runs on completed and imported documents.
Add columns from your contract data
Every table in the digest can show more than its default columns. Select Columns above a table to open the column list. Under Other columns you'll find the data AI extraction pulls from your contracts, such as Contract value, Effective date, Expiration date, Renewal type, Auto renewal, Governing law, Payment terms and Termination for convenience, plus any custom fields your team has created.
Turn a field on to add it as a column, or use Search at the top of the list to find one. For example, add Renewal type and Contract value to Upcoming renewals to see which large contracts renew automatically.
Filter and export
Use the Status, Document type and Counterparty name filters above the cards to narrow every section at once.
Select Export above any table to download the documents in it. Use it to share a renewals list with finance or to keep a record of what's outstanding.
Come back to a section
The section you select is part of the page's web address. Reload the page or share the link and it opens on the same section. When you return to Reports from the menu, the digest opens on Action required.
Team view (coming soon)
A team view of Document digest is coming soon. It will show documents across your workspace, not only your own, so you can see what needs action and what's waiting on recipients across your team. It will be available to people who can see all documents in the workspace. Your own digest stays the default view.
Things to know
The time windows are fixed: 7 days for Recently finalized and 90 days for Upcoming renewals.
A document can appear in both Action required and Waiting for others, for example when you and another signer both still need to sign.
Documents you declined or let expire yourself appear under Action required, not under Recently finalized.
