Document details

The Document details section lets you preview details, view recipient analytics, audit trail, and send reminders without opening the document.

Availability: Starter, Business, and Enterprise plans

The Document details section allows you to preview the document info without opening the document itself. You can view recipient analytics, general details, and an audit trail. You can also send a quick reminder to a document signer.

To open the Document details section, click on the three vertical ellipses on the right-hand side and select the Document details option from the dropdown.

  • Under Analytics, you can quickly check who hasn’t yet signed the document, then send a reminder to them. You can also review how much time a document participant has spent on each page.

  • Under Details, you can check when a document was created and sent, when it will expire, and when it’s set up for renewal.

On the Enterprise plan Company field auto-populates with values recognised from the document contents. This will work for uploaded digital PDFs and editable documents created in PandaDoc. You can use this field to easily filter your documents by company name.

Note: The Company field auto-fill feature is available only with the Enterprise plan.

To add company data manually, navigate to File menu on the top, then select Document > Document details and type a Company name value in the right-hand panel.

If you're in the document list, open Document info panel, click the pen icon next to Company and type a value under “Details”.

Note: You can add as many companies as you need by clicking the plus(+) button on the right.

  • The Audit trail tab provides a step-by-step history of all your document’s status changes.

Checking document details in the PandaDoc editor

From inside a document, you can review the Audit trail, Document details, Latest activity, Recipient analytics, expiration date, and reminder settings.

  • To open Document details, select File in the top menu, then Document > Document details. Here you can see who owns the document, what folder it's located in, when it was created, and what its total value is. You can also add Data fields and Tags from this tab.

  • To view Latest activity — a record of every action taken on the document — open the same Document details tab.

  • To see a step-by-step history of your document's status changes, click Audit trail on the right-hand panel.

Alternatively, select File > Document > Audit trail.

Note: Audit trail is available only on sent documents.

  • To open Recipient analytics, click the three-dots button to the right of a recipient's name. From here you can see how much time that recipient spent on each page and in total, when they last viewed the document, whether they downloaded it, and more.

  • To check or edit a document's expiration date, select File > Document > Expiration.

  • To review or adjust reminder settings, select File > Recipients > Reminders.
