Set up your camera and microphone

Before you join the session, make sure that a camera and microphone are allowed on your device.

To set up the camera and microphone in mobile Safari (iOS):

  1. Go to Settings > Safari

  2. Scroll to Camera or Microphone

  3. Tap on the setting and allow the access to camera/microphone on all websites.

You can also set up permissions in the settings of your device.

If you are using mobile Chrome (Android):

  1. Open Chrome > go to More on the right of the address bar and choose Settings

  2. Select Site settings > tap Camera or Microphone

  3. Tap to turn the microphone or camera on or off.

  4. If you see the site you want to use under Blocked, tap the site > select Access your microphone and Allow.

Alternatively, you can allow a camera and microphone for Chome in your device settings.

How to join the Notary session

Once the Notary invites you to the session, you will get an email notification. Open it and click on Join.

Choose which browser you would like to use, check your name and email, and select Continue.

After you join the session, you will see the participants of the session.

To check the document, click on the Document icon on the bottom panel.

The system should automatically recognize your audio and video devices. However, if you are unable to see yourself, you can click the ‘gear’ icon and ensure that you have selected the correct output devices.

Verification process

Once the Notary starts the identification process, you will see a pop-up window that you are invited to identity verification. Click on Get started to process.

Note: You must enter your first and last names as mentioned in your document, otherwise, a verification error occurs.

Warning: In case you failed KBA one time, you can try to verify your identity one more time right away. The questions will be different the second time. In case there are two failed attempts, you will need to wait 24 hours to be able to proceed with KBA.

Next, enter your personal information and click on Continue.

After that, you will have 2 minutes to answer 5 identity questions. When you finish, click on Continue. All is done! KBA is passed. Click on Continue to move forward.

To start the verification by using your ID, click on Begin verification.

Next, choose the country that issued your document and select the type of document.

After that, take a photo of your document or upload an image, check if it is clear and click on Use this photo.

Note: The low quality of the uploaded photo ID (blurry, with shadows or light glares) can affect the verification process.

It will take several seconds to process and once you're done, you will see a Congratulations message.

Signing the document

Once you finish with identity verification, the Notary will invite you to sign the document. Click on Start signing.

To sign or fill in the info, click on the field. Click on it and it will guide you to the next required field.

Select Finish when you are done.

After that, the Notary will complete their part. When the session is ended, you will see a Session ended message.
