Salesforce Troubleshooting: Connection required (one-time setup)

This article explains how to troubleshoot the 'Action required to continue' error in the new editor.

Updated today

If you cannot run Salesforce workflows and see the 'Action required to continue' error shown below, you must complete a one-time authorization to enable the integration for your workspace.

Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Navigate to the Templates section of your PandaDoc account

  2. Click + Template

  3. Select Blank

  4. Click +Add Step and choose Pull data from integration

  5. Select the step you just created

  6. Choose Salesforce

  7. In the right-hand panel, click Connect

This will open an authentication window where you can complete the connection.

What to expect

Once the setup is complete:

  • The status will show as 'Connected'

  • All documents retrieving data from Salesforce will work correctly

Why is this required if Salesforce is already connected?

You may have already connected Salesforce for other features within PandaDoc.

However, workflows rely on a separate connection designed specifically for automation.

  • Existing connections support standard features

  • Workflows require a dedicated authorization

For this reason, a one-time re-authorization by a PandaDoc Admin is required.

Once completed, no further action will be needed and all Salesforce workflows will function as expected.

Note: If you do not have admin permissions, please contact your PandaDoc or Salesforce administrator and share this guide.
