Availability: Enterprise plans and currently rolling out to Business plans*.
*If you are on a Business plan and can't send documents with a quote builder, it will be available to your account soon.
Note: This feature is in beta.
PandaDoc's simplified quoting experience (Inline Quote) lets you configure and edit a quote builder block directly on the document — without opening the separate full-screen editor. You can add multiple sections, modify products, manage sections, add rows and columns, control spacing, and adjust layout, all without leaving the document.
To enable the option:
Click on the quote builder block, then click the Options gear icon on the top right of the page
Select Edit quote
Click the gear icon again to access the quote builder block's settings
Select Inline quote in the right-hand panel
Click Save
While inline editing lets you quickly modify columns, products, and sections, you will need to open the full quote editor via Edit Quote to adjust advanced product configurations, designs, and layout settings.
However, you can remove products and add custom products when editing on-page.
To remove a product when editing on-page:
Click the three vertical dots button to the right of the product row
Select the Remove item option
Working with Sections
Adding a section
Click the quote builder block.
Find the section below which you want to add a new one.
Click the + Section button.
A new section is inserted immediately below. The "section name" field is focused so you can type a name right away.
Naming a section
Click the "section name" at the top of any section to edit it inline.
Save your change: press Enter or click outside the field.
Cancel editing: press Escape to revert to the previous name.
Empty section name: if a section has no name, click on the quote to enter Edit mode, and you'll see a "Section name" placeholder. Click it to enter a custom title.
Section actions menu
By clicking on the three dots button to the right of a section name, you can access the following options:
Column header — toggles the column header row (e.g. Name, Qty, Price, Total) on or off for that section only.
Delete section — remove the section and all its line items. You can undo this action immediately after deleting.
Warning: Deleting a section removes all line items in that section. Use Undo immediately if you delete a section by mistake.
Note: You cannot delete the last remaining section in a quote.
Adjusting space between sections
You can control the vertical spacing between sections globally for the entire quote.
Click the quote builder block to select it.
Click the gear icon at the top and select Properties.
Open the Design section.
Under "Section", find the Spacing setting. Choose between Small, Medium, or Large.
The selected spacing applies between all sections in the quote. You can set a default in your quote theme, or override it for an individual quote block. Use Reset to theme settings at the bottom of the design panel to restore the theme default.
Adding rows
To add a line item to a section, click the + button at the bottom of the quote table. You can also add custom products inline without opening the full quote editor.
You can also add rows using the row action menu:
Click the three vertical dots button to the right of any row.
Select from the following options: Add row above, Add row below, or Move item down.
Adding columns
To add columns to your quote table, click the + Add column button on the right. Then select the column type from the list.
Editing recipient permissions
You can manage recipient permissions for individual line items directly on the document, without opening the full quote editor.
Click the quote builder block.
Click the three vertical dots button to the right of the product row.
Go to the Recipient view section.
From here, you can:
Enable or disable quantity editing permission for recipients.
Mark the item as optional, allowing recipients to select or deselect it.
Disabling inline editing
To disable inline editing for your quote builder block and return to the previous functionality, click the gear icon at the top and select Properties in the right-hand panel, then switch back to Layouts mode.
