Availability: Business and Enterprise plans

With this feature, you can switch between document/template/content library items/form versions and view previous versions.

When is a version created?

  • After you opened a document, edited it, and closed it

  • When a document is sent

  • When a document is restored

  • When a suggestion added to a document is accepted

  • When redlining process is finalized

  • Multiple users are editing simultaneously and one of them exits the document, the document version before they closed the document is saved. When the next user exits the document, another version is saved, etc.

Note: You can restore a version of a document in Draft status. To edit a sent document select Actions > Edit document, and confirm you wish to edit the document.

Warning: If you edit a sent document, all signature and initials fields filled out by recipients will be erased to protect the signer from having signed an altered document. Your document will be pushed into the Draft status and you will have to resend it.
