Attach files to your document

The Attachments app allows you to attach downloadable files to your document in case you do not want to include them in the document body.

Availability: Business and Enterprise plans

The Attachments app allows you to attach downloadable files to your document. This is helpful for appending supplemental attachments, larger file types, Excel spreadsheets, and any other content you’d like to attach to — but not include in the body of — your document.

Note: You can attach up to 10 files, and no file can exceed 50MB.

Add attachments

Open a document, click on the Apps icon on the right, then click on Attachments.

Next, click on Add attachment, then drag and drop your file, upload from your device, or import from one of the following cloud storage services: Box, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox. You can upload multiple files at once.

Alternatively, you can hover over the quick-add button at the top or bottom of a page, then click on it and select Add attachment.

In this case, the attachment will be added — but not shown — in the body of the document.

Regardless of where you’ve added the attachment — either on the right side or within the body of your document — it will be displayed in the right panel. You can access the attachment list by clicking the clip icon.

We recommend adding the app to your template so all documents created from this template will inherit this setting. Then, all you’ll need to do is add the attachment itself!

If you would like to attach one and the same file to all documents, you can attach it on the template level so all documents created from this template will inherit the attachment.

Download and delete attachments

Click on the clip icon on the right, or find the attachment within the body of the document. Then, hover over an attachment name, click on the vertical ellipses, and select one of the following actions: download or delete.

Preview attachments

Click on the attachment name to preview it in a separate tab.

Note: Some file types cannot be previewed. If the browser cannot open the file in the preview window, it will be downloaded automatically.

Attachments: Recipient view

Your recipients can find attachments by clicking on the clip icon at the top of the screen or in the body of the document. The recipient can click on a single attachment to download it, or click on Download all to download each one in a single click.

Note: The attachment will not be included in the PDF of the document. Want to be able to download the attachment along with the document it is attached to? Please vote for this idea in our Idea Portal.
