    Hi everyone,

The following are the steps in order for a workaround for this:

    • Navigate to 'Design' and click 'Headings'.

    • Click on the heading you want to choose. I recommend Heading 5 for the smallest text.

    • Select the option for a numbered list in 'Auto-numbering'. You can also change color, font size, and text style in this area.

    • When you add new text blocks, may sure to click 'Heading 5' (or whichever heading you chose) as the default text for each line you need the numbering for.

You may follow this feature request in our idea portal regarding numbering in separate blocks without having to use the workaround. Add any additional comments you'd like and subscribe to receive updates regarding the status of the request.

    Hi Olivia,

Unfortunately at this time numbering only works within the same Block you may have started from. So, there is no way to have a text block on one-page showing points 1,2,3, and then a different block displaying points 4,5,6. The only solution would be to have the same block go across the built-in page break.

The team is currently working on updates to the numbering options, so please be sure to add this suggestion to our user-voice page

I need this as well. I can't include our MSA formatted correctly without this feature. I'm the 51st upvote for this feature (In addition to another similar one). Let's make it happen!

Has this numbering feature been implemented yet? As I am the second up vote, however, the previous comment refers to '51' upvotes?

This is also a major issue for me. I need to be able to customize where the numbering starts if the text doesn't automatically flow to the next page or even to the next column. @PandaDoc when will we have a solution?

    Hello Aly,

Thank you for your comment here.

I did find the feature request that was submitted to our product team regarding this.

Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA to provide at this time. I apologize for the trouble your team is facing with this functionality not being available.

I have reached out to the product team here at PandaDoc and passed along the urgency. I look forward to this becoming available in the future!

    Hello Jeffrey,

Thank you for reaching out here and thank you for your patience with my response. I reached out to our product team to inquire about this and unfortunately there is no ETA at the moment for implementation of this update. I apologize for the trouble caused.

My advice would be to subscribe to receive updates on the feature request so that you will receive updates as they happen.

    Thank you for choosing PandaDoc.

Hi Christopher, the workaround you linked in your pinned comment with workaround steps is no longer active. Has a permanent solution been created? If not, can you update the link to a current workaround?

    Hi David,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am working on making a new video.

If I don't have that link updated by the end of the day today, it will be updated early next week.

HI! Is there any update on this? I have a list that runs over two pages that needs to be numbered.

    Hi Louise,

I have added a comment that is pinned at the top of this post with the steps. Sorry for the delay.

    Hi Christopher,

Following you updated workaround, I feel like I'm missing a final step. Using your suggestion of Heading 5 with the option for a numbered list selected as 'Auto-numbering,' I still don't see any way to adjust the starting number on a new text block and it continued to start at '1.'

Can you confirm what should be done after your step 3 in your list to allow for a custom number to begin a new list?

    Hi David,

Thanks for following up. When you start in a new text block, are you selecting 'Heading 5' before typing? If you are, you may need to click outside of the text block for the numbering to fix itself.

If you are just selecting a portion of text in a text block that needs to be numbered, you can press enter or return on your keyboard and the numbering will correct.

I don't see anything new updated above and I have the same issue. While I did use Heading 5, I don't see anyway to restart the numbering. Alternatively, I see no way to remove numbering?
