    Hello Adrian,

If you have embedded variables in any of our Text blocks that are formatted with PandaDoc styles, then those styles will be honored when creating a document via API. However, we do not support any type of Rich Text formatting that can be passed in.

Let us know if you have any further questions and thank you for choosing PandaDoc!

Hello Christopher, that is very sad.

    • At least it would be nice to be able to use some basic markup, could be markdown as well.
    • In our case, also “variables” aren't the preferred way, but would do it, as this is more like a static text, which just should be inserted once into the document

    The problem

    • it is a lot of text, we need to include in the document, multiple paragraphs with headers, at best lists too
    • and the text is generated based on product configuration, i.e., contains a specific text for each product attribute

    The use case is:

    • We are using a storefront for users to request quotes (WordPress / WooCommerce) and are migrating to Pandadoc for the request workflow now
    • all information for products are already within the shop, as customers need to know them anyway
    • unfortunately, this information is also required within the quote

Another example is, that we need to send a list of “included/optional coverage”, I “solved” it with adding ~100 variables to the template (coverage.1, coverage.2, coverage.3 ... ), so we can send up to 100 items. The operator then has to remove the superfluous variables from the final document…

    Hello Adrian,

Thanks for the follow-up here. You should have received an email from Allen Joneth Lumapak yesterday about getting a workflow consultation scheduled so we can discuss this further with you and any potential solutions.

If you haven't already, make sure to respond to that email with a few times that you are available to get on a call with us.
