While you’re typically sending proposals or contracts to your main point of contact, you might often learn that other people need to see the document too, or even sign it instead of your initial contact. If these people aren’t already on your recipient’s list, you can add them easily if you know their email address. But what if you don’t know their email address, or you can’t anticipate who else needs to see the doc on your customer’s side?
For these situations, you should try using Document/Signature forwarding. It’s a little toggle that you can turn on for your template or document, and it allows your customer to forward the document themselves.
- Document forwarding: This is great if your customer wants to get additional team members to view your document, but they don’t need to do anything else with it.
- Signature forwarding: This is perfect for when your customer or contact is not the end decision-maker, and they need somebody else to sign-off.
Enable for templates if this is a common occurrence for your sales team. Enable for individual documents in Draft, Sent, and Viewed statuses if it’s just a “once in a while” thing.
Just navigate to Recipients > Forwarding to find these settings. You can click here to learn more.
