PDF: How to edit the uneditable?
PandaDoc is all about creating stunning documents and providing an easy-to-sign experience for customers.
But how do you create a document with PandaDoc?
There are multiple ways to work with PandaDoc, but the 2 most common are:
- Create a document from scratch, using PandaDoc builder blocks
- Create a document from a PDF
But PDFs are not editable, you’ve been told, right?
That is correct, they are not, BUT there’s a workaround.
PDF itself is not editable, but the PandaDoc product team came up with an option to add information on top of the PDF. You can put not only fields on top of the PDF to collect information from your customers, but also blocks.
Any block can be laid on top of the original PDF: image, text, and even videos.
Imagine you have a PDF and there’s a mistake in the text - oops that’s a bummer. No need to worry: drag and drop a text block, go to the settings, change the background color of the text block to match the color of the page, and add the correct text.
And besides that, you can match the font of the text to the font of the PDF.
Remember, any block you add to the PDF has an absolute positioning, so it can be moved around just as needed.
If you have a question about how you can add a PDF, simply hover your mouse to a little grey dot in between pages until the blue “+” sign appears, and then click on “Upload file” and perform the above steps.
