Multiple Recipients - ONE signature needed
What is the best practice to send out one document to multiple people when you only need one signature?
Example - I send an application package to a Board of Directors. They approve the application and need to sign one page of the document. I only need one signature on the document - not every Board member. Since I've sent the application package to multiple people, will the system look for multiple signatures?

Thank you for reaching out via the Forums.
The document will only look for multiple signatures if you have multiple Signature Fields with different Board members assigned to each Field.
In this case, if you will only have one Signature Field in the document, then you can assign the Signature Field to just one Board member on the Board of Directors and that individual will have to sign the document.
If you are using Signing Order, then you will want to make sure all of the other Board members that are CC’d on the document are listed before the Signer so they receive the document along with the designated Signer. We have more detailed steps on this for you in our Help Center.

So if I send a document to the Board of Directors (3-5 people), I would need to assign a specific person to sign.
My situation is, I have to send it to multiple people, but don't care which of them actually signs it. I just need one signature.
Is there a way I can do this?

That is correct, only one email address can be assigned to a Signature Field. You would need to assign one email address (one recipient) to the Signature Field.
The ability to have multiple signers for one Signature Field has been submitted in our ideal portal to our product team. You can submit another vote for this request and subscribe to receive updates regarding the status here. We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve the product to better serve you.
We do have one feature available, the Approval Workflow, which would allow you to send a document to an Approver Group (the Board of Directors), and one of the Board members can approve the document before it is sent to recipients. I wanted to highlight this feature in case it may be of assistance.
