Document activity provides information on what happens to a document including:
- Document Comments
- Internal Document Comments
- Audit Trail
Document Comments show all the public comments added to the document by the document creator and recipients.
You cannot delete comments
Internal Document Comments. You can leave internal comments for your team that won't be visible to recipients. See more below.
Audit trail provides the statuses of the documents and the “Sent to” email messages that were sent from PandaDoc.
Actions provides details of who created the document, email messages sent to the client, clients opened emails, delivery failure messages to recipients, viewed the document, when it was completed, etc.
Review Activity – Comments
Open a sent document, over on the right, click Activity > Comments. Comments with the gray background are public comments, this means everyone (including recipients) can see them.
To switch to private comments, use the “lock” icon, press it again to go back to public commenting.
These private comments have a light yellow background and can only be visible to your team members. Mention colleagues by using “@” and typing their name or email address.
When comments are left, emails will be sent for the comments added to the document or if you are mentioning a team member.
Review Activity - Audit trail
Open the sent document, go to Activity > Audit Trail and you will see the list of activities for this document.
Review workflow approval
If you have enabled Workflow approval for a template and then used that template for a document, you will see it in the audit trail:
