Change plan

To change or review your PandaDoc plan:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing and select Manage plan

  2. If you want to switch to a different plan, select Manage plan, review the plans, and click Select plan. Your subscription won't be updated at this point

  3. Next, update the number of seats and payment frequency if need be.

  4. Click Confirm changes, once you finish updating your subscription.

  5. If you are on a monthly payment plan, you can upgrade or downgrade your subscription as needed. For example, you can upgrade to a paid plan during busy months and downgrade back to the Free eSign plan during quieter periods. These changes take effect at the end of your billing cycle and can be requested through your account settings.

Manage payment details

If you need to make a payment, you can add/update your billing details:

Select Settings > Payment details > Add payment method, then select credit card or PayPal.

When you select the credit card option, you will see a form to add your CC details. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards for payments.

If you’ve already added your payment details but need to edit it select the pen icon next to your payment details and add a new card or connect your PayPal account.

To delete your card from the account, go to Payment details tab and select Clear payment method.

Select Delete to confirm your action.

New: You can now add a backup payment method to avoid payment disruptions.
To do this, go to Settings > Payment details and click Add backup method next to your default payment method.

Update company info and billing address

You can update your company name, billing address, and VAT under Your company section in the Payment details tab.

Change account owner

Note: There can only be one account owner.

The account owner can access administrative pages including Users, Roles, Billing, and Payment details. Here's how to transfer account ownership to another person.

Note: Account ownership can only be transferred to another member of your PandaDoc account.

  1. Go to Settings > Payment details. Under Account owner, select Change account owner

  2. Next, start typing a user's name or email address to find and select them from the dropdown. Select Transfer.

  3. Then, an email will be sent out to the old owner, i.e. you, so you can confirm the ownership transfer.

If the account owner has left the company, reach out to us to change the ownership.

Send invoices to another recipient

The account owner has overall responsibility for the account including Billing, so they will always receive the invoices to their email address.

Usage Credits

One Usage Credit within your balance is charged for each individual document created through Automations, Bulk Send, Forms, API, Zapier, and Make.

At a glance

  • Creating a document uses one credit. Everything else is free.

  • The API sandbox key is free and unlimited. Credits are only used by live, production integrations.

  • When credits run out, API document creation pauses (Starter and Business plans). Other features keep working, and usage beyond your credits is billed as overage.

Only creating a document uses a credit. Connecting your account, searching and reading documents, managing recipients, and checking document status or audit trails are free.

Credits that come with your plan

Some plans come with credits so you can try API and automation features, or to get you started when you subscribe. These credits are free but limited. When they run out, the rules in When your credits run out below apply, even if you never purchased a credit pack. Credits added to your account by PandaDoc at no cost work the same way.

Plan

Credits you receive

Free

The Free plan does not use Usage Credits. See Free plan document limits.

Starter

One-time grant of 25 credits on conversion to a paid plan, expiring after 30 days (monthly billing) or at the end of your annual billing cycle (annual billing). See Get more credits below to add more.

Business

10 credits included with your trial. When you convert to a paid plan, you receive 50 additional one-time credits, expiring after 30 days (monthly billing) or at the end of your annual billing cycle (annual billing). See Get more credits below to add more.

Enterprise

10 credits included with your trial. Your paid plan includes an annual allotment. Contact Sales to add more.

Important: Usage credits are tied to your subscription renewal cycle. The one-time conversion credit grant is valid until your next renewal and does not carry over. Recurring usage credits must be purchased as add-ons and are not included free after the initial grant.

Notes:

  • Trial credits do not carry over when you convert to a paid plan.

  • Monthly credits do not roll over to the next month. Annual prepaid credit pools are valid for the full annual term.

  • For Starter and Business accounts, the one-time conversion credit grant is valid through your first renewal. After renewal, additional credits must be purchased as add-ons.

  • Your included credits and any purchased credits combine into a single balance.

When your credits run out

API (Starter and Business plans): API document creation does not have a per-document overage rate. When your credits are used up, API document creation pauses. To resume, add credits to your plan (see Get more credits below) or upgrade.

All other features (Automations, Bulk Send, Forms, Zapier, Make, and other integration platforms): usage continues, and anything beyond your credits is billed as overage at the per-unit price on your current order form. If your order form has no per-unit price, you will be charged up to $5 per document created.

Free and trial credits: Overage applies after free credits are used up, including credits granted with your PandaDoc trial. This is true even if you never purchased a credit pack.

Enterprise and custom plans: Overage terms are set by your order form.

Get more credits

How you add credits depends on your plan.

Starter and Business (monthly): Add credits yourself in the app with a recurring add-on. It renews with your subscription, so you don’t have to top up manually each cycle.

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.

  2. Scroll to Usage credits and select Manage.

  3. Select the credit add-on and click Pay now.

Business (annual) and Enterprise: Reach out to our Sales team and they’ll help you find the right credit volume for how you use PandaDoc.
