Our Slack integration makes it super easy to track status on your documents. Give your email inbox a rest and get document updates in Slack instead!

Install PandaDoc app

Note: Сlick here to install PandaDoc in Slack.

You will need to authorize the application and connect PandaDoc with your Slack workspace.

Warning: Each user of your slack account will need to install the app on their own.

Now you can customize the types of PandaDoc notifications you’ll receive in Slack.

Set up and customize notifications

To customize notifications you’ll receive in Slack, first open the app, then type ‘/pandadoc manage’ or select the request from suggestions, and then send it.

In the pop-up, choose the types of notifications you’d like to receive:

  • For received documents

  • For sent documents

  • Comments posted in documents

By default, you’ll receive all types of notifications.

Note: You can only receive notifications in PandaDoc App in slack, you can't set up notifications for slack channels.

Create and sign documents

If you’ve received a PDF in Slack, you can sign and/or have it signed easily via PandaDoc. Simply hover over a PDF, select the vertical ellipsis menu to the right of the PDF, then select Create a document.

Once you select Create a document, you’ll receive a notification from PandaDoc for Slack that the document was created. Select Open document and the PDF will open in a new tab in the PandaDoc editor.

Note: You can only add blocks and fields to any document created from a PDF. Any other content is uneditable.

To self-sign a document, first add a signature field, then click on it to sign. If necessary, you can add other fields such as Text or Date. Once you’ve filled out all fields, select Finish to complete the document.

If you need to collect signatures from your recipients, you can add recipients by first selecting Manage/invite recipients, then by adding recipient email addresses.

Add a signature field for each recipient (and make sure these are assigned to the appropriate signers), select Send document, then select Send via email or Share via link.

If you share a document via link in Slack, the link will be parsed and shown as a snippet, with additional metadata about the document (document status, document value, and the workspace it was created in) included.

Uninstall PandaDoc app

To disable the integration, open the PandaDoc app, select PandaDoc on top, then Configuration. In configuration settings, select Remove app.

Troubleshooting

I see an error that says, “We’ve hit an unexpected snag.”

To fix the issue:

  1. Go to Authorized apps in PandaDoc

  2. Remove access to Slack from PandaDoc
