Salesforce change: connected app usage restrictions

Updated this week

Salesforce is rolling out a security update in September 2025 that may affect the PandaDoc Salesforce integration.

This applies only if your Salesforce org has the PandaDoc managed package installed.

After the update, Salesforce will block access to any uninstalled connected app, even if users previously authorized it.

To prevent disruptions, Salesforce recommends installing the connected apps your org relies on.

Official Salesforce article:

What your Salesforce Admin should do

1. Review Connected App Usage

  1. Go to Setup > Connected Apps OAuth Usage.

  2. Search for PandaDoc OAuth2 and PandaDoc Automations.

2. Install the PandaDoc Connected Apps

If an Install button appears next to either app → click Install.

This ensures the PandaDoc integration continues working after Salesforce enforces the new restriction.

If Users Experience Connection or Sync Issues

If users cannot:

  • cannot connect PandaDoc to Salesforce

  • see errors when trying to reconnect (including OAUTH_APPROVAL_ERROR_GENERIC)

  • notice Salesforce data not syncing to PandaDoc or updates not reflecting back in Salesforce

  • suddenly lose access to PandaDoc features that rely on Salesforce data

Then your Salesforce Admin should:

  1. Go to Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage.

  2. Install PandaDoc OAuth2 and PandaDoc Automations if the Install button is available.

  3. After that, reconnect the PandaDoc workspace to Salesforce from PandaDoc → Settings → Integrations → Salesforce.

This should restore full connectivity and sync functionality.
